Context

In Cameroon, child protection is a major issue. The State and many institutions are establishing solutions to take care of children seen as vulnerable. In fact, one in two Cameroonian children under the age of 18 are neglected, and poverty and inability complete schooling is highly prevalent. Many refuges exist to foster such children, taking care of them and giving them the opportunity to have a normal education, and at the same time trying to improve their living conditions to offer them a better future.

Presentation of the mission

LifeTime Projects invests itself in a Cameroonian refuge situated in Yaoundé, which cares for children from birth to adulthood. The aim of this mission is to guide these children during their growth and through their schooling since the principal focus of the intervention is to help them awaken their sensory capabilities. Some children are physically or mentally handicapped, but they are all full of joy and energy! Moreover, the eldest children attend school everyday.

The team currently present on location is dynamic and very dedicated to the children,  which is why LifeTime Projects has decided to give this refuge the necessary support and resources to participate in building a better future for all involved.

Your involvement

Your participation in the refuge in Yaoundé will include playing with children and sharing moments that will fill their days of happiness. During your mission, you will be able to help them with homework, practice music, sing, play together, do sport etc. No particular  knowledge or experience is required, we only rely on your time and enthusiasm!
